Canarian staff fighting (juego del Palo) is a sport wherein two combatants armed with staffs face one another. The staffs are fire hardened.

Eduardo Oramas founded the School of Traditional Sports in Aroma in 2005. Staff fighting and Unarmed Combat are two of the traditional sports that this maestro teaches in the school. Such sports enable practitioners to learn traditional Canarian self defence.
